At a show that plays host to some of the country’s most crack car and truck builders, it’s tough to pick the unexcelled of the best. With that caveat, here are “some” of the best of from the 2008 printing of SEMA.
That Rolls Has a Hemi!
A lightly used 1970 Rolls Royce Silvery Shadow isn’t anything special (and it isn’t worth very much). But the rebuilt Mangle crafted by Joe Richardson from Denver, North Carolina is indeed exceptional (and expensive). The RR sports a fuel-injected 572-cubic inch Chrysler Hemi that twists its character with the help of nitrous oxide and a 671-style supercharger. Richardson, who owns Scant Joe’s Street Rod Shop, dynoed the Hemi at 1,350 horsepower.
Once the diaphanous surprise of seeing a slammed Roller with a blower sticking out of the hood wears off, you can go into to appreciate the craftsmanship and overall design restraint exercised by Richardson and the channel’s owners (a couple from Florida). The chassis rides on an air delay, but beyond the requisite billet wheels and the modified hood, the external is as it was when it left Crewe in 1970. Stock bumpers. Forerunner door handles. Stock lights. Stock Resolution of Ecstasy.
Inside, the execution is less stock, but compared to what one often sees at SEMA, it’s still restrained. Leather hides that would make it c fulfil Connley proud cover the interior, including the integrated record bar. The jar of Grey Poupon mustard sitting on the rear armrest between was a gentlemanly touch.

Hot Rod Car Show
Friday Rat had told me about a Hot Rod Yachting trip night at The Artic Circle Drive-In.I got hold of Carl and he small amount it might be fun. I am still without a "real" camera so I took my missus very very old 1.3 megapixel Olympus digital camera. The master card has a whopping 8 mega bites for 35 pictures. Several car caught my eye. One that I uncommonly liked is '36 Chevy. When I was young my parents had a '37 Chevy 4 door. Anyway this is one wonderful Sano Chevy. I hope that you enjoy the photos.
