The Best of SEMA 2008

At a show that plays host to some of the country’s most wizard car and truck builders, it’s tough to pick the beat of the best. With that caveat, here are “some” of the best of from the 2008 print run of SEMA.
That Rolls Has a Hemi!
A lightly used 1970 Rolls Royce Silver Comrade isn’t anything special (and it isn’t worth very much). But the rebuilt Billow crafted by Joe Richardson from Denver, North Carolina is surely exceptional (and expensive). The RR sports a fuel-injected 572-cubic inch Chrysler Hemi that twists its nutcase with the help of nitrous oxide and a 671-style supercharger. Richardson, who owns Minuscule Joe’s Street Rod Shop, dynoed the Hemi at 1,350 horsepower.
Once the out-and-out surprise of seeing a slammed Roller with a blower sticking out of the hood wears off, you can start out to appreciate the craftsmanship and overall design restraint exercised by Richardson and the means’s owners (a couple from Florida). The chassis rides on an air interruption, but beyond the requisite billet wheels and the modified hood, the outward is as it was when it left Crewe in 1970. Stock bumpers. Precursor door handles. Stock lights. Stock Resolve of Ecstasy.
Inside, the execution is less stock, but compared to what one often sees at SEMA, it’s still restrained. Leather hides that would get somewhere Connley proud cover the interior, including the integrated boom bar. The jar of Grey Poupon mustard sitting on the rear armrest between was a agreeably touch.

Hot Rod Car Show
Friday Rat had told me about a Hot Rod Journey night at The Artic Circle Drive-In.I got hold of Carl and he mental activity it might be fun. I am still without a "real" camera so I took my spouse very very old 1.3 megapixel Olympus digital camera. The greatest card has a whopping 8 mega bites for 35 pictures. Several car caught my eye. One that I quite liked is '36 Chevy. When I was young my parents had a '37 Chevy 4 door. Anyway this is one wonderful Sano Chevy. I hope that you enjoy the photos.

Rat Rods - The Old School Hot Rods
Rat Rods are typically interpreted to be the Hot Rods kids base during the 1930s - 1950s, using modern parts, and innovativeness. Rat Rod designs and styles take quirky shapes from any era of car and use these shapes to sanguinely build a radically designed car. Rat rods are an existence, it’s a way to go overboard, but not be caught in keeping your car appealing. In most cases the uglier the better. Rat rods are big, traditional high road rods are bigger, and muscle cars are ridiculously out of sight. But there’s still the ‘33 Ford roadster, the substance of a hot rod and a car that has been done every which way including Sunday.
Rat rods are for individuals who want to research with engine performance and other features while keeping costs to the in the altogether minimum. Rat Rods are one of the most popular concepts going these days. Rat rods are for fun! Rat rods down attack in many flavors: coupes, t-buckets, pickups and even newer vehicles are being converted into “unfinished” rat rod pattern cars.
There’s no concern for original or authentic parts or crop, and they’re often dotted and splotched with patches of primer — because hey, a car doesn’t emergency paint to be driven, right? Rat Rods are meant to loosely travesty in form and function, the “Traditional” Hot Rods of the era. Biker, Greaser, Rockabilly, and hooligan culture is often credited as influence that shapes of Rat Rodding. Rat rods are low-priced cars put together by street rodders who don’t want to spend a estate on fancy design. Rat rodders spend little rhino, but their cars turn many heads.
Rat rods are a throw back to the days when most of us couldn’t be able to have a really nice car, so instead of spending money on the show, the drive train (motor, tranie, rear end) received the regard. I think maybe wistfulness is the driving force behind the old car thing. Rat rods are hot-rods that looks unfinished and/or old and/or abused and they are often painted only with primer as contrasted with of glossy paint like hot-rods usually are. I have a these cars are like punk-rock was/is for the music industry. Rat rods are often powered by flatheads, neat sixes, straight fours and other relatively uncommon engines such as those made by Cadillac and Studebaker.
